Why are we doing it?

Musicals are fun. Midsumma is fun. Frivolity, diversity, sexuality and open expression are all fun. In Australia, fun is under attack.

Who is involved?

Director – Peter J Adams

Peter J Adams is an established musical director based in Melbourne. Currently he is an associate director on The Producers, and before that comes a long list of associate director credits on other professional musicals including The Man from La Mancha and Showboat. In I Do, Peter has found a place for his passion for new work.

Writer, book and lyrics – Julian Hobba

Julian Hobba is an emerging writer whose work has been performed at Adelaide Feast Festival, Newcastle Young Writers Festival and QUT Arts Festival. In 2003 Julian was selected to take part in the inaugural Australia Council Spark program for young Theatre Artists.

Music – Peter Lubulwa

Peter Lubulwa is a music composition student at Victorian College of the Arts. He is part of a jazz band called The Speakeasy’s for whom he composes original pieces. He also has his own solo piano project. In the past Peter has played in orchestras for musical productions in Canberra.
