Fully Flared Films

about...

In the past eight years, Fully Flared Films have made a number of short films, musical productions, live films and events. They ran The Short Crap Film Festival for 4 years, its purpose, to create further exposure to new and young filmmakers with what we believe is talent yet to be recognised in the wider community of free champagne lovers.

In 2006 Fully Flared Films created 'The XPOSED International Queer Short Film Festival Berlin'. A festival that sets out to XPOSE weird, funny, disturbing queer short films from Australia/ Canada and other countries. It is held during the pride week celebrations in Berlin.

Fully Flared Films are looking for production companies who wish to join in co-production ventures in Australia and Internationally with the outlook to creating unique ways of telling stories be it in feature form, theatre, dance, musical, short form or new media. If you would like to contact us please feel free to do so on the email below.

Enjoy looking and searching through the rest of this website. Any feedback you may have would be gladly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Bartholomew Sammut & Kelly West

'The 3 rd

XPOSED International Queer Short Film Festival Berlin'

'disturbing queer realities'

'LIGHT UP' to save Berlin from Global Lameness!

'The 3 rd

XPOSED International Queer Short Film Festival Berlin'

'disturbing queer realities'

'the XPOSED international queer short film festival berlin'   is back for it's 3 rd year of showing queer films from abroad to an enthusiastic Berlin pride week audience! On June 26 th prepare to be disturbed, intrigued & perhaps even turned on by some of the greatest and latest short films to come out of Australia, Canada and South Korea!

The festival began in Berlin during the Pride Week of 2006. At first it screened award winning Australian queer short films but then in 2007 expanded to screen queer experiments from Canada. In this years program expect some shockingly terrific short films from these two nations as well as a couple of intense queer shorts from South Korea. Plus a special return concert by 'Call Me An Ambulance' the band that rocked the festival away last year!

This years program ' disturbing queer realities' is a collection of short films that have emerged in the past two years that show us through many different genres, formats and stories a series of realities/ situations and lives that are lived by certain queer individuals that in some way disturb, offend, touch and aggravate others.   Films about sad children with the wish to suicide, the gay mafia, a young lesbian with an innocent yet scary questions for adults as well as situations when tables are turned and the oppressed becomes the oppressor as such in 'My Girl 2012'.

In all, Eleven short films will be screened, after an extensive search, each one of these films compliment each other and most importantly show characters realities and stories as moments in time. We are lucky enough to witness these moments as their time runs thin and we count down to the time when smoking is no longer legal inside Berlin Bars and Cafes. With this, we also like to celebrate smoking on screen with the majority of these shorts showing a good number of people lighting up. To this we say 'LIGHT UP' to save Berlin from Global Lameness!

XPOSED is about XPOSER and XPOSING.   It's about FUN, BERLIN and it's about TIME! 'The XPOSED international queer short film festival berlin' was created to bring Queer Short Films from other nations to Berlin during Pride Week and to provide international Xposure for Queer Filmmakers from around the world. In the lead up for this years festival we will also be screening some of the fantastic short films that screened at last years festival at a number of cafes around berlin during pride week!

The final program will be announced May 1 st on   www.fullyflared.com

March 2008...

Well, I guess i has been a year or so since we last updated this page. Soooo sorry. We have had two of our short films doing really well on the film festival circuit - 'The Omphalites' and 'Fine and Dandy' have both been around the world and back which has been very exciting. We were also extremely beneficial to both receive travel grants to see the films screen in New York and San Fransisco.

At present we are developing some feature ideas that we hope to make in the near future as well as dabbling in other areas, Kelly has taken up tattooing whilst Bart has been getting involved in acting. Currently we are curating our 3rd XPOSED international queer short film festival berlin which will be screening on the 26th of June!

‘Time Will Tell’ then went on to screen at the 16th Melbourne Queer Film Festival in the beginning of March and will screen next in Australia at the 7th Brisbane Queer Film Festival.
